Dr. Stathis Gonos is a Research Director at the National Hellenic Research Foundation and a Docent<\/em> at the Medical School of \u00d6rebro University in Sweden. He was recently elected Director of the Institute of Chemical Biology at the National Hellenic Research Foundation. He holds a Pharmacy degree from the University of Athens and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow (UK). He has previously served as a Research Scientist at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research \/ University College London, and as Director General of the Hellenic Pasteur Institute.<\/p>\n His research focuses on the genetic and environmental determinants of ageing and longevity. He has published more than 150 research articles in leading international scientific journals and book monographs, and holds international patents that have led to the development of innovative anti-ageing products.<\/p>\n Dr. Gonos has been invited to speak at more than 100 international conferences (including UNESCO and the European Parliament).
