Lida Katsimbardi
Institute of Regenerative Biology, University of Montpellier
Dr. Lida Katsimpardi earned her Ph.D. in Biology and Health from the University of Montpellier in 2008, following international research training in Germany (University of Mainz) and Greece (Hellenic Pasteur Institute, Athens), where she specialized in neurobiology and physiology.
She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University (2008–2015), where her groundbreaking research demonstrated that young blood can rejuvenate the aging brain — a discovery that contributed to establishing the scientific field of biological rejuvenation.
Upon returning to France, she went on to lead research groups at the Institut Pasteur (2016–2021) and later at the Necker Institute for Sick Children, Inserm, Paris (2021–2024). Her work during this period focused on cerebral and vascular aging, while she simultaneously strengthened translational research connections through an Inserm–CHRU Nancy-Brabois clinical research fellowship in geriatrics.
Since 2025, Dr. Katsimpardi has been leading a research team at the Institute for Regenerative Medicine and Biotherapy (Inserm U1183) in Montpellier, France, where her laboratory investigates the mechanisms of brain aging and develops therapeutic strategies aimed at preserving cognitive health.
